Julia is a lifelong Virginian and an honors graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
In 1998, after a career in government and public affairs in the Washington, D.C area, and maintaining a weekend home in Madison County, Julia and her family made a permanent move to Somerset, Orange County.
Julia shares our enthusiasm for charming, unique, and grand country homes and she has extensive first-hand experience with renovation and remodeling. After decades of participation in equestrian pursuits and ownership of farms in Madison County and Orange County, there is no better qualified agent to represent sellers and buyers of country homes and farms.
Selling vintage farmhouses and historic homes is tremendously satisfying for her, but no more so than working with clients in Charlottesville and the small towns across the region.
Clients consistently give Julia outstanding reviews for her knowledge, thoroughness, superb communication skills, and savvy representation. Perhaps most important, she takes the time to understand her clients’ needs and wishes, and she brings a breadth of experience and a commitment to excellence to every endeavor.
From 2014 through 2018, Julia was a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in the Charlottesville/Albemarle court system. She currently serves on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Orange County. She was a member of the Board of the Keswick Hunt Club from 2004 to 2009. In 1994 and 1996 she was elected and served two terms on the Fairfax City Council. Prior work experience includes Director of Communications for a member of Congress and for the national consumer advocacy organization Public Citizen.
